大阪名物 焼きチーズケーキー Osaka “famous” baked cheesecake

image

りくろーおじさんの店

This “famous” Osaka cheesecake was said having people queing outside of store all the time, and we quite often see it on the TV shows. At the same time, every time I walk pass the store, I always ask darling to buy it for me and he always refuses me since he doesn’t think it’s worthy to try. Actually I might already had it once when some friend come home for visit, like today. My micro brain always forget what I have had so here I write it down to remember my future self 😉

Friend come home with it just baked and it was still warm, I like just cooked food more than cold ones anyway. But it was so soft, or too soft, rather like sofle even I haven’t really had a real one. Not too cheesy, but quite eggy as darling commented, he doesn’t like egg white flavor, always request me to reduce the egg from any recipe ;( Too soft to finish too fast, melt in throat type so I hardly feel I have had it. Darling doesn’t like raisin at the bottom too ;( oh well, I will try to remember I have had it next time, but I would be nice to have it come with our visitors. That’s one of the reason I love Japan too, most people always come to visit with gift, which is usually sweet, which is welcomed by mostly everyone 😉

Baker D Chirico in Carlton

Croissant ($3.4)(should be $4 already)

Medium size, lots of layers, crispy and medium dry inside, not buttery, very light.

Almond Croissant ($4)

Nice nice and nice.
Not always big and solid all the time, second time was a bit burt and smaller =(

Danish ($3.8)($4 on 2012.12.23)

Darling like it okay, not too sweet, not too much cinnamon. But base is a bit heavy for honey =).
First time we had apple, second time had pear but didn’t realize it =P. third time had both …

Canele ($3.5)

Nice as what it is described.

Banana Fig Coconut Tea Cake ($4.8)

Many figs and lots of coconut, light sweet. But feel like fruit bread worth more to have, and cheaper (big loaf for only $7, cake is $4.8 for slice)

French Baguette ($4.5)

Maybe the best in Melbourne we have found so far. Quite slim compare with others, but smell nice, hard outside and chewy inside. But Darling said it might be nicer if they use a different kind of flour (but i’m not flour expert)
2012.12.23 Can’t believe their baguette turned so thin…about half thin compare with before, and dries up the second day =.=

Fruit Bread ($7)

First Impression – very heavy! medium block size might goes for 1kg. It’s multi-grain,poppy seeds with some spice and lots of big big dried fruits, very full and healthy. Might go for another one but Darling doesn’t like raisins =(

Casalinga ($5.7?)

Bigger baguette, hard outside, chewy inside, might be too tasty of yeast if leave it for long

Campania ($5.7)

Light wholemeal bread..

Maggie Beer Ice Cream

Angel’s Maple Fromage

Croissant

20120701
I had QVM croissant again since I thought I might like that one more, buttery and more crispy/crunchy, but at the end, my stomach turned not very comfortable, might be too oily =(… get over it already

20120621
The recent love of croissant is from Baker D Chiroco ($3.4) in Carlton. His croissant is like the one from Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong, many layers, crispy and not buttery. Light enough to melt before it gets stomach. QVM price increase to $2.5 this year =(

20110720Note: The best is still in Queen Victoria Market, the bread shop facing the chicken&egg shop…$2.20 crispy and nice skin…normally Darling buy stuff at different shops and Honey busy eating …

Want to start my first blog here by the food I want to have the most, but suddenly, I feel pretty full….

Chocolate Croissant – the one I love a lot these days.

Initially I found it in Coburg’s Vietnamese bakery, plan croissant is big and $1.20 only, with chocolate is $1.80. For a period of time, I couldn’t control myself having it every morning on my way to work.

The recent discovery is in city QV Woolworth, bigger croissant with more sweet chocolate for only $1.95, especially when I bought it warm….heart is melting
